Virgil van Dijk met the love of his life, Rike Nuitgedat, while still at school. Rike worked as a fashion sales manager, but since 2013 she has devoted herself to their family. The couple now have two young daughters, Nila (born 2014) and Jadi (born 2016). Even at their young age, the defender's eldest daughter has already appeared in advertising campaigns of the world's leading fashion and sports brands.
However, the personal life of the lovers was not without problems. The scandal broke out in 2014 when porn star Georgie Lyall went public with intimate messages she exchanged with the footballer. At the time, Rike was pregnant with the couple's first child. Even though Virgil confessed to his infidelity, Rike decided to forgive her unfaithful partner. In the summer of 2017, Nuitgedat officially became Van Dijk's wife.
