The first critter killed was swift too. I had a slow start, but the predator was swiftly killed. Vanstrom was almost defused a few times, and my hopes were high when my connection no longer carried orders and I was killed with 8 sharks left and it was a bummer that my clicker did not work. I'm getting death darts and prepare to fight again - this time with death darts.
My thought is to put him to death on the first possible attack. Or do I need to lure him into the water puddle in order to finish the job? No. There is no need to draw him in. That is the part that is skipped. (You will need to have holy water to keep in your inventory)
All you need is one dart. Equip it and attack him as quickly as you can. It will cut right to the point of his explosion and you'll be down to one hitpoint. My mom actually did it a couple of days back so I'm aware. I like that the darts offer people who have less speedy computers or slow connections.
The opportunity to finish the quest in this way. It's a shame that there's not something like this. When I was trying to recreate the firepit during Summer's End. Vanstrom was much easier for me. I am sure you've heard about the fire pit. I have watched my sister try this and died 23+ times and has to begin again. clicking happens slowly [you've seen the feeling of frustration.
I'd love to see it run in the same way as it did in 2008 - There was a balanced balance of game play then one could master or take on combat, with ease. There was even a very little delay in our orders for our character being executed.
