Diablo 2: Resurrected -The complete guide to runes and runewords
Runes can also be used in certain Horadric Cube recipes. You can, for instance, use runes with Ral rune along with damaged equipment to repair it. This is a fantastic option whenever you're low on gold and cannot afford repairs at a vendor. Runes are also able to be put together using the Horadric Cube; this is often referred to as "cubing up" and it is a very common method to achieve the next rune with no needing to hunt for it in the wild. If, for instance, you are carrying three El runes and require another rune put the three El runes in the Cube by pressing the transmute button. Out will pop and out will pop an Eld rune. This recipe for upgrading is available in the rune charts below.
The quest of Hellforge found in Act 4 will always drop some runes, and it is often used as payment to get a speedy passage through the acts. The Countess's tomb, located at the bottom of the Forgotten Tower in Act 1's Black Marsh, is another good source of runes.Because they have a certain rarity moving from the most commonly used (El) all the way to the rarest (Zod) in Diablo 2, they are commonly employed to boost the economy of Diablo 2. El Through Lem are typically considered low runes, Pul into Gul are usually considered to be mid runes, and Vex up to Zod are typically considered to be high runes. If you see middle or high runes while on your travels, make sure not to part with them quickly!
