April seems a bit far away in part because of the San Francisco 49ers’ draft order. Their No. 2 slot has been getting consistent with Josh Allen sliding in and the occasional Nick Bosa craziness coming once in a while. The obvious happened: Nick Bosa to the Arizona Cardinals and Josh Allen to the 49ers. There’s one huge difference I’ll get to in a second, but first, what Wilson thought of the pick on Senior Bowl week: The more I’m reading and watching on Allen, the more I like for him on the 49ers. That versatility offers some solid balance when the defense is forced to remain on the field in hurry-up situations. So the big thing about this draft is the trade at fifth. The Jacksonville Jaguars did in fact make a trade in this mock, but it was to No. 5 where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are. Dwayne Haskins was the obvious pick. This is important to note because we’ve discussed how the Jaguars—or any QB needy team by extension—may be paying overkill for the No. 2 spot when they can get to No. 4 or No. 5 and save some draft capitol.
