Curly hair never goes out of style, and a curly wig allows you to sport this timeless look over and over again. Although curly wigs require a little more maintenance, it is easy to keep them in top condition over time with proper curly wig care. So, in this post, we will explain how to care for curly wigs effectively.
Here are 5 ways you can care for your curly human hair wigs.
1.Avoid Alcohol-Based Products
Your Julia hair wig is ordinarily still the same as your natural hair. Therefore, you have to treat it in the same manner that you would your natural hair. This effort involves avoiding alcohol-based products. Products that contain alcohol are excessively too drying to human hair. Given this side effect, it is not shocking that curly human hair does not tolerate them at all. Dry hair is at the highest risk for breakage due to the disruption of the overall hair structure. Hair that is dry loses its flexibility and therefore, easily snaps or frizzes. You will want to avoid hair care products that contain alcohol at all costs.
2.Remove Tangles from Curly WigsFrequently
At the end of each wearing, inspect your hair for tangles. Tangles can destroy a curly hair if you fail to care for them early enough. Using a comb, gently section the hair. Apply a moisture-rich Conditioner or just water and use a soft, bristle brush, wide-tooth comb, or even just your fingers to remove the tangles. Be careful not to create too much friction with those tresses, or you will generate unwanted frizz. Also, take the time to detangle the hair before washing it. This action will help to reduce further tangling or even breakage.
3.Use Sulfate-free and Paraben-Free Shampoos and Conditioners To Wash Your Hair
The frequency in which you wash those curly locks will vary depending on the number of Hair care products you use on the hair itself. Some may choose to wash their hair weekly and others twice a Month. When washing your curly human hair, use sulfate-free shampoos. You want to choose shampoos that do not strip the hair or rob it of its curly nature. Only use hydrating conditioners. You should allow the hair to soak in a basin for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing.
Again, do not rub this hair when washing it. Rubbing the hair will create friction which will lead to frizz. Carefully pat the hair, then lay on a towel to drain excess water or allow it to dry on a towel or any object that can drain out the water. As the hair is drying, you can also scrunch the hair to restore some of the curl texture but be careful not to rub the hair.
4.Combat Frizzy Hair with a Leave-In Conditioner
If your hair becomes frizzy, spray water on Julia hair or apply a leave-in conditioner to tame those curly tresses. Sometimes, all you need is a little bit of moisture to restructure the curls and to eliminate the dreaded, matted-hair look. You can apply oils to help seal in moisture and give curls vibrancy but remember that a little bit will go a long way. Too much oil will weigh the hair down, and you will have no choice but to wash the hair to restore it to its natural state.
5.Protect Your Curly Hair
Cover those curls with a satin bonnet to protect them from dust and other environmental elements when you are not wearing it. Satin bonnets help to reduce the opportunity for unintentional rubbing or friction, seal in moisture and preserves the hair. The other option you have for protecting your curly hair is when not planning to wear it, keep it tucked away in the original packaging.
