There wasincidental basketball newsTuesday, nothing important really, just a 10-day contract with New Orleans for guard Orlando Johnson, reported by The Vertical. There was nothing notable about this, except for one thing: the name Orlando Johnson.

Inquiring minds got to wondering, and after a little bit of research, found that nobody named Orlando has ever played for the Magic.

There have been three players in NBA history named Orlando, and none has played for the Magic.

What of it, though? Well, there's baseball, and there's and its treasure trove of information about the game's history, and, well... here.

St. Louis Cardinals

There have been dozens of players in baseball history named Louis, mostly going by Lou, and the best of the bunch, Louis Clark Orlando Cepeda Jersey Brock, played for the Cardinals from 1964-79 and is in the Hall of Fame. The Cardinals also had a catcher named Lou Criger and infielder Lou Bierbauer before the turn of the 20th century, pitcher Lou Lowdermilk in the 1910s, pitcher Lou North in the 1920s, outfielder Lou Scoffic in 1936 and infielder Lou Klein in the 1940s.

Criger, Lou Finney, Lou Koupal, Lou Kretlow, Lou Nordyke, Lou Polli, Lou Sleater played for the St. Louis Browns. Lou Sylvester played for the American A sociations St. Louis Browns in 1887.

MORE:

No St. Louis team, though, has had a player primarily play as Louis. Meanwhile, the Royals, right acro s the state, had Louis Coleman in their bullpen the last five years. Coleman signed withthe Dodgers this winter. There is no justice.

Houston Astros

Tyler Houston played for the Braves, Cubs, Indians, Brewers, Dodgers and Phillies. Houston Jimenez played for the Twins, Pirates and Indians. Huston Street also has not gotten to his quasi-namesake city.

Texas Rangers

None of the seven players named Dallas has suited up for the Dallas areas team, though Dallas Green did pitch for the 1965 Washington Senators, seven years before the club moved south.

But BUT! in 2007 and 2008, the Rangers had a left-handed pitcher named A.J. Murray. His given name? Arlington John Murray. The only player in major league history with the first name Arlington has pitched Tom Glavine Jersey for the team that calls Arlington home.

Washington Nationals

The Nats havent been around that long, so its not surprising that they havent had a player named Washington. The 1978-79 Rangers did, however, have outfielder LaRue Washington. Maybe theres a way to rearrange the space-time continuum to get him to change places with Dallas Green.

Boston Red Sox

Speaking of the space-time continuum, Daryl Boston spent 1984-90 with the wrong Sox, playing in Chicago for the Pale Hose instead of for the team in the city of his name with the Carmines.

MORE:

Chicago White Sox

Theres never been a major leaguer named Chicago, but there was a John Smoltz Jersey profe sional player who shared a name with the Windy City. That was Chicago Cheatham, who pitched two games for the Paris Eisenfelders Homeseekers of the Texas League in 1902, a thing that baseball-reference.com says really did exist. That teams leader, with 120 hits in 87 games? A fella named Carl France.

The White Sox, for their part, did have Doc White, Ed White and, most recently, Rick White.

New York Mets

Does Butch Metzger count? How about (New) Yorkis Perez? No? OK.

Philadelphia Phillies

Theres been Phillippe Aumont, Phil Bradley, Phil Collins, Phil Geier, Phil Knell and Phil Linz, but the king of all Phillies is the outfielder from 1958-60, Dave Philley.

San Francisco Giants

Francisco Melendez got into 35 games for the Giants from 1987-88, followed two years later by Francisco Oliveras and more recently Francisco Santos and Francisco Peguero. Whether any of them were saintly, who knows?

What you should know is that the tallest Giant was Randy Johnson, at 6-10, one inch taller than the previous tallest Giants, Johnny Gee (1944 Deion Sanders Jersey -46) and Terry Bro s (1993).

MORE:

Los Angeles Angels

Angel isnt an uncommon name, but the only one to show up in Anaheim is Angel Moreno, for a mere 21 games from 1981-82. That does beat Angelo Encarnacions 11 games in 1997 and one game played by interior name man Mike Colangelo in 1999.

Oakland As

There have been 56 players with last names beginning with A who played for the As, but somehow the team mi sed out on matching the name on the front of the jersey to the name on the back with Mike Oakland, a 22nd-round draft pick of the Rockies in 1992 who never got beyond, wait for it, A-ball.

Bobby Cox Jersey Colorado Rockies

While the Rockies tried to make things work with Mike Oakland, theyve never had a player named Rocky of which there have been four since Colorado entered the National League, including active Padres catcher Rocky Gale.

MORE:

San Diego Padres

Maybe theres some way to get Rocky Gale to Colorado in a three-way deal, with the Padres landing Yankees pitcher Diego Moreno, who is the second Diego in major league history, following Diego Segui the only man to play for both the Seattle Pilots and Seattle Mariners, but not the Padres. The Padres did have Jody Gerut, though, and his middle name was Diego.

Seattle Mariners

There has never been a major leaguer named Seattle or Mariner.

MORE:

Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore Orioles, Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins

Same here. Nothing doing.

ChicagoCubs

The 19th century second baseman Cub Stricker never played for Chicago, and the Cubs mi sed out on ever having Mike Cubbage or Darwin Cubillan.

MORE:

PittsburghPirates

It would also be a stretch to say Gaylen Pitts should count, and he only played for the 1970s As anyway. The Buccos did, however, have John Buck for the last two months of the 2013 season, and there was the old joke about Derek Bell being a real pirate because he lived on a boat and stole money. Operation Shutdown forever!

MiamiMarlins

In other aquatic activity, Marlin Stuart pitched for the Tigers, Browns, Orioles and Yankees. He died in 1994, a year after the team bearing his name came into existence.

Tampa Bay Rays

Ray is a more common name, but the Rays have never had one of their own. They also havent had anyone named Tampa, nor did Jason Bay play there.

Kansas City Royals

The Royals have had Rays Ken Ray, Ray Sadecki and Ray Holbert, Scott Kazmir Jersey to be exact but not so much as one Roy. They havent had anyone named K.C., either. Jeff King, though! And Dennys Reyes, which is Spanish for Kings! And Tom Prince!

MORE:

Cincinnati Reds

Heres some better luck with a short name, an old-timey nickname for an old-timey tea

Ping pong tables game

It is a solved game, with a forced draw assuming best play from both players.Table tennis and ping-pong are essentially the same game and there are no major differences between them.So the ping pong table dimensions are the same across the board for a "standard size", "full-size" and "official size" table.
