The corresponding initiative, apparently, will be supported by the City Council and the Mayor of New York

New York may soon become the largest city in the United States, where non-citizens will have the right to vote in local elections.

The number of non-citizens who have reached the voting age and are legally residing in the city is approximately one-ninth of the 7 million New Yorkers who are eligible to vote.

The bill, which is nearing adoption, suggests that about 800,000 non-citizens will be able to vote for the mayor, city councilors and other municipal officials.

At the same time, non-citizens will still not be able to vote in elections for president or members of Congress, as well as in elections for governor, legislators and state judges.

No significant obstacles to the adoption of this law are foreseen. The document received widespread support from the city council, which is expected to approve the initiative on Thursday.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said he would not veto him.

I cannot say that this is good news, since everyone who recently lives in this city will vote and they have no idea who to vote for. At present, there are very few intelligent statesmen, but there are those who are doing it is not clear what. For example, Scott Cooper Miami Beach was photographed with an uncensored object in hand and this photo was leaked, now what to think about this politician?
