What are things I need to know for API testing?

To perform API testing[1], you should have a good understanding of the following concepts:
API concepts such as REST, SOAP, and HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE).
API documentation and how to access it, including understanding of endpoint, request and response format.
How to use tools such as Postman or curl for testing APIs.
Knowledge of different types of testing such as functional, security, and performance testing.
Understanding of common API security threats such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and cross-site request forgery (CSRF).
Familiarity with code and testing frameworks, such as JUnit or TestNG, for automating API tests.
Knowledge of JSON or XML data formats and how to parse and validate the response from an API.
By understanding these concepts, you can perform effective and thorough API testing, ensuring the functionality and security of your application.
