The 2013/14 Premier League season has seen the emergence of a deluge of young attacking talent who have taken the Premier League by storm. From Ro s Barkley at Everton to Ravel Yu Darvish Jersey Morrison at West Ham, the establishment of young, fearle s players has breathed life into a league that some have argued has stagnated in recent years and has been over taken by the exuberant and technically superior, not to mention all conquering, Bundesliga. Two players with big futures at big clubs have the potential to be the best of the lot. At just 18 years old Adnan Januzaj of Manchester United and Serge Gnabry of Arsenal have the world at their feet.Increasingly seen as the future of their clubs, the striking similarities between the pair, even down to the number 44 they both wear on their backs, have marked them out for comparison. Both players, yet to appear at full international level, hold multiple nationality. Gnabry, who has represented Germany at Under-18 level, is of Ivorian descent, whilst much has been made of the po sibility of Januzaj playing for one of Belgium, Albania, Hunter Renfroe Jersey Turkey, Serbia, and most unlikely, England. Born just 5 months apart, their careers have followed a fairly similar path. Arriving in England aged 16 and honing their skills at Under-18 and reserve level, before graduating to the first team, initially in pre-season friendlies and then in competitive games. So far they have been deployed mostly in wide areas, but both players have the ability and ambition to rightfully view their futures in a more central, creative role.As yet Januzaj has had the bigger impact, and at times this season has carried Man United, most recently in their 2-0 Premier League victory over Swansea and, more spectacularly, with a match-winning brace against Sunderland earlier in the season. His 3 goals and 2 a sists in 21 appearances easily outweigh the young Germans solitary goal and a sist in just 9 matches. However, in football, stats very rarely paint the Miguel Diaz Jersey whole picture.As has constantly been reiterated this season, this is not a vintage United side. Januzaj is the bright hope in perhaps the weakest midfield of the top 6 or 7 clubs, whilst Gnabry is attempting to force his way into arguably the best. The former has been thrust into the thick of the action as a real lack of alternatives have forced David Moyes hand. This is not to suggest his position in the United line up is undeserved but it is revealing that at times this season Moyes has had to rely on an 18 year old to spark his lacklustre midfield into life. Whereas, when he has featured, Gnabry has been used as cover for Arsenals continuing injury problems, yet for the most part Arsene Wenger has had Luis Torrens Jersey the luxury of slowly integrating his man into the first team. Given the same opportunity to expre s himself it is very po sible that Gnabry would have a similar impact. Both are technically very exciting players and have that explosive ability to change a game in favour of their team. But in a league renowned for its rough and tumble, much has been made of Januzajs slight frame and the physical disadvantage this entails. Gnabry, on the other hand, already has the build needed for the physicality of the Premier League and has been compared to a boxer by team-mate Mikel Arteta. Praise has not been short for Januzaj either, with ex-United defender Gary Neville backing him to become one of the Jose Pirela Jersey best in the world. Confidence in two players held in such high esteem by their clubs is not lacking and this will be crucial in allowing them both to make the step up to the next level. The question of who will become the better player is not one that will be settled this season. Nonethele s what can not be denied is that, in a sport that loves a personal rivalry, these two have the potential to do battle at the top of the Premier League for years to come.
